Terms & Conditions

The terms on which SDK Travel arranges travel services on your behalf.

Last updated: 04 September 2026

1. Our role

SDK Travel acts as an agent for airlines, hotels, tour operators, insurers and other suppliers. Your contract for the travel services themselves is with those suppliers, and their terms and conditions apply to your booking.

2. Quotations

Quotations are valid for the period stated and are subject to availability, currency movement and supplier fare changes until a booking is confirmed and paid.

3. Payment

A deposit is payable to confirm a booking, with the balance due before departure. The deposit amount, the balance due date, accepted payment methods and any service or ticketing fee are set out on your quotation and confirmed in writing before you pay. Airline tickets and certain accommodation rates require payment in full at the time of booking; where that applies, we tell you before you commit.

4. Changes and cancellations

Requests to amend or cancel a confirmed booking must be made to us in writing. Airline, hotel and tour-operator penalties apply and are frequently 100% of the fare or rate close to departure; any amendment or cancellation fee we charge in addition is disclosed on your quotation. Refunds are paid to you only once the supplier has released the funds to us, which can take several weeks.

5. Travel documents

You are responsible for holding a valid passport (generally with at least six months' validity and sufficient blank pages), the correct visas, and any required health certificates. We advise on requirements but cannot be held liable for refused entry.

6. Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended on every booking and is required for certain destinations.

7. Liability

We are not liable for loss or damage caused by suppliers, or by events beyond reasonable control including weather, strikes, airline schedule changes and civil unrest.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
